The LeBleu Lighthouse Church of God

Some history...           The LeBleu Lighthouse is affiliated with the International Headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee.  For more information on the Church of God, Cleveland, TN., click here:  http://www.churchofgod.org/

We began with a small group in December of 1993.  Over the years, we have had consistent growth and success in our various ministries.  Pastor Rick Batchelor and his wife Lisa, with their three kids, began the church with a vision to establish a church in the same area they both grew up in.  After some 15 years, Pastor Rick and Lisa maintain that same vision of simply “loving on people” with the love of Christ.  It works!

Located in the small rural community of LeBleu Settlement, Louisiana, (just 5 miles north of Lake Charles), this church has a solid mix of it all..... old and young, Spirit and Word,  traditional, Southern Gospel and cutting-edge contemporary music, high praise and soft worship.... and an over-all ability to maintain a balance in ministry.  Pastor's favorite word in the English language is B a l a n c e.   We believe every service should be led by the Holy Spirit!

The preaching is always relevant and timely to the issues at hand.  Pastor Rick has a passion to preach the Word of God with power and compassion, always mindful not to compromise what God is telling the last-day church.  The Lighthouse..."the church where EVERYBODY is SOMEBODY!"...could very well be the church you are looking for!

Pastor Rick says "You won't find a church that can love you any better than us!"

    Declaration of   Faith

The  LeBleu Lighthouse Church of God believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. The Church of God has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.

We Believe:

  • In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
  • In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
  • That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
  • That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
  • That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
  • Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.
  • In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
  • In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
  • In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
  • Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
  • In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet.
  • In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
  • In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

In a Nutshell, our stance on....

  •   Salvation... a lot easier than a lot of preachers preach!
  •      Any person who genuinely asks God to forgive him/her of their sins, repents and asks Jesus to come into their heart as Lord and Savior is saved!
  • A person MUST be born again to go to Heaven.  There is no other way but through Jesus Christ.
  • We are a Pentecostal church and believe that  the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (evidenced by speaking in tongues) is a tremendous aid to the believer;  however, we do not believe one must be Baptised in the Holy Spirit in order to be saved!  The only prerequisite for salvation is a willing and repentant heart.
  • We believe that Jesus is coming back for the righteous and holy.  We can only be these things as we live IN CHRIST and He lives in us.  We believe a person can forfeit (lose, surrender)  their salvation by choosing to turn away from Christ and return back into the world of sin.  God has always allowed man his free will to do and live as he wishes.  It seems the "free will of man" is the most sacred and untouchable notion in the Heart of God!
Baptism of the Holy Spirit:
  • Not a requirement for Salvation
  • Available to all believers
  • Evidenced by speaking in tongues
  • Purpose is to create a bolder witness to the unbeliever.
Religion vs. Relationship?
  • We believe God is more interested in a personal relationship with you...rather than a religious one.
  • God is more concerned with what is on the inside of you than what is seen on the outside.  (We let you and God decide how you should dress).
  • God loves the sinner and the saint equally.  (Should we do anything less than God?)  We love everyone...no matter what they are, who they are, where they've been, etc.
  • Restoration is always the remedy for a believer who falls into sin.   The backslider needs love...not criticism or judgement.
  • Perfect people are NOT allowed in our church!   :)
